We are conducting research on how hazardous water affects the female reproductive system. Our research is attempting to ascertain if the eggs themselves are being transformed or altered by the exposure, given the prevailing belief that a female is born with all the eggs that will be utilized in her lifetime. When we were creating the legislation, we believed the phrase “in utero” would also refer to a female child’s eggs. We are not hopeful that we can integrate the male reproductive system since male sperm is created but not stored.
